See your lowest balance before it arrives

Fin draws your bank balance for the next 30, 60 or 90 days from your own bills, pay and invoices, marks the lowest point and the day it arrives, and lists the biggest items on the way. For a salary, a stream of invoices, platform payouts or anything in between.

Example figures

Known first, trend second

A trend line guesses next month from the last few. It cannot know that the car insurance renews on the 16th or that a client owes you $2,400 next Thursday. The 2Fin forecast starts from what is already dated and only fills the gaps with a trend:

balance(day) = cash today
+ money due in, on its day
− bills due out, on their day
− everyday spending × days passed

Where the money starts

The balances your bank feeds last reported, for cash accounts only. Cards, loans, investments and other currencies are listed beside the forecast, never quietly counted as cash.

What is already dated

Bills, invoices owed to you, money-in patterns and estimated pay days, each on the day it is due. The same feed as Upcoming, so the list and the line always agree.

Everything in between

Your everyday spending from the last 90 days, less the payments a tracked bill already schedules, spread across each day of the forecast.

One dollar, counted once

A forecast is only worth reading if you can trust it not to count the rent twice. These are the rules that keep every dollar in one place, and the forecast notes beside the line what it left out and why.

A bill is counted once

Payments linked to a tracked bill, or to a merchant it carries, come out of the everyday trend. The bill appears once, on its date.

Overdue is listed, not subtracted

An overdue bill may already be paid without a link. It sits under the line with a note, so it cannot be taken off twice.

Transfers follow the money

Between accounts the forecast counts, nothing changes. To a brokerage or an account it does not count, the money leaves the line.

Currencies stay apart

Only your reporting currency is summed. Items in another currency are listed per currency beside the line, never converted.

Built for every way you earn

Forecasting software is usually built for one kind of business, with a ledger, a payroll and a team. Fin reads the money itself, so the same forecast works for a salary, a stream of invoices, weekly payouts or the cash around a trading account, in every country 2Fin is offered.

Employees

Pay days come from your pay history, or from an employer you add with the figures off a payslip. The forecast shows whether rent lands before pay.

Freelancers and consultants

Each invoice you record as owed sits on its due date. When the payment lands, Fin links it, and the line moves from expected to real.

Tradies

Keep quoting and invoicing in your job software. Record what each client owes and the forecast holds it, beside the supplier bills and the ute repayments.

Creators, streamers and gamers

Platform payouts that repeat can be tracked as money-in patterns with their next dates, and a sponsorship you are owed waits on its due date. Gear and subscriptions sit in the bills.

Rideshare and delivery drivers

Weekly payouts repeat on their own rhythm. Fuel and running costs flow through the everyday trend, so a quiet week shows up as a shallower line.

Online sellers

Marketplace payouts, stock orders and platform fees each land on their day, so you can see whether the next order fits before the next payout.

Traders

Your broker keeps the holdings. The forecast follows the cash in your bank: money sent to a brokerage leaves the line, and what you take out arrives as income.

Small businesses and landlords

Suppliers, rent, insurance and loan repayments on their dates, with rent due to you and client invoices on theirs.

Four ways to look ahead

The forecast sits on top of the list it is built from. The list and your daily burn are free; the line and the long-range trend come with ELITE+ and AUTO+.

Forecasting, answered

Questions about the cash flow forecast

What does the 2Fin cash flow forecast use to project my balance?
Three things, in this order. The balance your bank feeds last reported for your cash accounts. Every dated item on Upcoming, on its date: the bills Fin found repeating, the invoices and other money you are owed, money-in patterns and your estimated pay days. And your everyday spending, averaged over the last 90 days with the payments those bills already cover taken out, so nothing is counted twice. Income only enters the line when it is scheduled.
Where does the starting balance come from if I have no bank feed?
From your recorded transactions. With no balance reported by a feed, the line starts at the net of the transactions you have brought in, and the forecast says so: “starting from your recorded transactions”. Connect a feed with your own key and it starts from the real balance instead.
Why is an overdue bill not in the forecast line?
Because it may already have left your account without being linked, and then the starting balance holds it once already. Overdue items are listed under the forecast with a note, so you can see them and link or clear them, but they never pull the line down a second time.
Do transfers to my savings or a brokerage account change the forecast?
It depends on where the money lands. A move to an account the starting balance already counts changes nothing, and paying off a credit card is left out because the card’s spending is already in the trend. A move to an account the forecast does not count as cash, such as a brokerage, an investment account or a savings account outside it, leaves the cash the line follows, so it shows as money going out.
How is this different from the Insight+ forecast?
They answer different questions. The cash flow forecast is a day-by-day line for the next 30, 60 or 90 days, built from items you know about. The Insight+ forecast extends your monthly income, spending and net forward by 1, 3, 6 or 12 months as a trend, with a confidence band and a choice of method: linear, exponential smoothing, moving average, seasonal, or automatic. Use the first for “am I safe this quarter?” and the second for “where is this year heading?”.
Which plan includes the cash flow forecast?
The cash flow forecast and the Insight+ forecast are on ELITE+ and AUTO+. Upcoming, recurring patterns, expected income and your daily burn rate are on every plan, including Free, so the list the forecast is built from is free to keep.
What if I only have a few weeks of history?
The forecast still draws, and it tells you how many days of history sit behind the everyday-spending figure when there are fewer than three weeks, so you treat it as a first estimate. Uploading older statements gives the trend more to read.
