- What does the AI2Fin accounting connector actually do?
- Two things. It reads your ledger’s chart of accounts and the last twelve months of coding, and proposes rules that map Fin’s categories onto your accounts. Then, for each transaction you choose, it creates a coded entry in the ledger — a Spend or Receive Money in Xero, a Purchase or Deposit in QuickBooks Online — with the receipt attached. Both connectors are direct, and both are in beta.
- Which accounting software does AI2Fin connect to?
- Xero and QuickBooks Online, through direct connectors in beta. MYOB has no direct connector: Fin produces a CSV that MYOB can import, with the category and tax treatment on each row. Any other ledger can take the same CSV.
- Is AI2Fin accounting software?
- No — it is the owner’s finance brain that then hands the accountant coded transactions. Bank feed, receipts read line by line in over a hundred languages, budgets, bills, deductions and GST per transaction happen in AI2Fin; the ledger stays where your accountant already works. That is why the connector learns the ledger’s coding rather than trying to replace the ledger.
- What does “beta” mean for the Xero and QuickBooks connectors?
- That they are direct connections being used by early customers while Fin refines them. You choose every transaction that is sent, and each lands as an ordinary transaction you can edit or delete in the ledger. Expect the rule proposals and batch options to keep improving.
- Are my bank-feed transactions sent to my accounting software?
- Only when you include them. Transactions from a bank feed you connected stay in AI2Fin by default; a push carries the transactions you chose — typed in, imported from a CSV or XLSX, or captured from a receipt. Your ledger’s own bank feed then reconciles against those.
- How is this different from the Destinations feature?
- Destinations send finished rows one way, into a Google Sheet, Excel workbook, Notion database or Airtable base you own. The accounting connectors create coded transactions inside a ledger and read its chart of accounts and coding history back — a Spend Money in Xero is a different object from a row in a spreadsheet. Many people use both: the connector for the accountant, a destination for their own analysis.
